LAGUNA HILLS
LITTLE LEAGUE

AND... WE'RE BACK ...

and so are the memories, the triumphs, and the friendships. We couldn’t be more excited for the 51st year of Laguna Hills Little League.

We want to welcome all of you to our Spring Season, whether it’s your 1st year or your 8th, we’re excited to have you!

The season will be starting before we know it. So, we’d like to introduce you to some of the amazing LHLL Managers that power this league.  If you see them around, say hi!

JOE DIETZ

Joe, pictured here with his son Gavin, will be managing the AAA Angels this year. He is also our fields manager and has been donating his time and expertise to the league for quite a few years now. He roots for the Angels and Padres, and has been know to crush a few long drives on the links.

BRIAN YOUNG

Brian represents everything great about Little League Baseball. An avid baseball fan, he is managing the Rookie Pirates, and you’ll probably see him step into the umpire uniform a few games as well. Brian might just be one of the nicest humans alive and no one can teach the “love” for baseball quite like Brian. He is a former LHLL President.

DAN MANDEL

Dan is our League President and is also managing the AAA Dodgers.  Dan has been influential in growing our Little League and working night and day to provide the best baseball experience for all of us. One of his greatest baseball memories is his walk-off hit in an All-Star tournament as a kid. He’s a huge Sandy Koufax and Rod Carew fan and roots for the Dodgers and Red Sox.

ANDREW WATKINS

Coach Watkins has been managing for Laguna Hills for quite a few years, and he’s back managing the Majors Dodgers for us this year. He says the smile on the kids’ faces keeps bringing him back year after year. He a huge baseball fan and he has a ton of baseball knowledge. He’s super pumped to get going this year and see our boys compete at a high level.

ANDY ASHWORTH

Andy is coaching our AA A’s team this year. He grew up playing catcher and lived for a good plate collision that he often won. He was an assistant on last year’s A ball White Sox and can’t wait to manage a team on his own. When Andy is not managing he loves surfing, golfing and playing music.

JUSTIN FRADY

Coach Justin grew up in Boston and is a Red Sox fan through and through. His favorite player is Roger “Rocket” Clemens, and his favorite memories are when he caught a foul ball hit by Ken Griffey Jr. at Fenway and seeing the Sox win a World Series in Person. He’ll be managing our A Red Sox this year.

ART FLORES

Art is a past president of LHLL and always steps up when we need him. When he was asked why he coaches he replied, “I’m lucky and thankful for the time I get to spend on the baseball field with my sons and their teammates. I’ve learned so much from coaching and appreciate all of the friendships and memories made while being a part of Laguna Hills Little League.”

GEOFF GUZMAN

Coach Geoff has been managing his second season with LHLL and will be leading the AA Braves. His favorite baseball memory is hitting a bomb over the right field fence in high school. He roots for the Padres and when he’s not managing you can find him catching waves and carving mountains.

JOE COLLINS

Joe is managing the Rookie Angels this year for LHLL. One of his best memories is when the LHLL 9-10 All-Stars, around 1999, were down 6-0 in bottom of the 6th and came back to win 7-6. One of the kids on that team is now playing MLB. Joe grew up surfing and used to shape surfboards and now he volunteers at a free clinic weekly as a physician.

JIM SHOTT

Jim is doing double duty as a manager for us this year, leading the A Angels and T-Ball Angels. Jim is also on the board as our Umpire-in-Chief and Scheduler.  His favorite baseball memories are being at multiple games at Dodger Stadium that ended in walk-off victories against the Giants.

ERIN HAYNES

Erin is coaching our Rookie Marlins Team. Erin loved it when she took her 6yo son to their first Angels game last summer and saw him very engaged with the everything happening at the ball game. She used to root for the Giants and A’s, but now roots for Ohtani and the Angels

JEREMY MANISTA

Jeremy has 2 sons playing in LHLL and will be managing the A Padres. Jeremy is a Padres fan and loved watching Ken Griffey, Jr. growing up. He plays softball and soccer and loves a round of golf when he can sneak it in.

CHRIS HEALEY

Chris is managing our Rookie Brewers this year, in addition to his duties as Safety Officer for LHLL. Some of Chris’s fondest memories were made playing little league with his buddies growing up, so he’s passing it on to his boys. Even though Chris is a Giants fan, we love having him as board member and a manager in LHLL.

MARC LAZO

Marc is managing the T-Ball Royals this year. He had a cannon for an arm growing up and plans to teach some of our players how to throw darts this year.

ANDREW SCOTT

Andrew was quite the player growing up. He lead his Irvine Little League in home runs almost every year. He even hit a dinger on his high school tryout. Nowadays he loves spending quality time with his kids and watching Mike Trout crush dingers. Andrew is going to be managing the A Dodgers
