HAPPY HITTER
Week Four

This Week in Little League

It was a big week for our Little Leaguers. Our Single-A division started kid pitch, a big step in the development of our young players.

Our upper Division games are becoming more and more competitive as our kids keep amazing us one play at a time.

Our T-Ball and Rookie games are a pure joy to watch and everyone is having fun and learning to play.

AA Padres 5, AA Dodgers 3

The Padres edged the Dodgers 5-3 in a close game highlighted by drama throughout the contest.  Nolan McCarron (Dodgers) and Michael Orduno (Padres) opened the game for their teams, and each pitched extremely well, leaving the game in a tight battle.  Orduno hit an inside-the-park home run for the Padres in the first.  James Pitt and McCarron also had great hits for the Dodgers, and Pitt pitched well in middle relief.  Cohen Sanchez had a great at-bat ending in a solid hit for the Padres.  Alex Tsujiuchi of the Dodgers took the mound in a tight situation to extinguish a rally and keep the game close.  Jackson Fliegler closed the game for Padres, pitching two strong innings to secure the win.  These two teams will meet again next week for a rematch!

AAA Dodgers 9, AAA Red Sox 4

The AAA Dodgers won 9-4 against the AV Red Sox in Aliso Viejo. Thor Thuler overcame some tough plays in the infield to keep the score close. Leo Gonzalez has came on to be a fantastic catcher for the Dodgers and got a big hit. Luke Riddle made a great stop and throw from shortstop. Colton Carrido pitched well and went 3-3. Max Mihai closed the game out with one run allowed over the last 3 innings.

AA Angels with a big rally

Little League baseball doesn’t get much more exciting than the game witnessed by fans on Tuesday between our AA Angels and AV Mets.

The Angels stormed back from an 0-4 hole with some great defense and three consecutive home runs from Ayden Zeffer, Aiden Sipkovich and Maddox Fitzpatrick.  This game came down to the very last pitch!
The score ended in a 10-10 tie. We fought hard and we’ll take it! Go Angels!!!!

A White Sox vs.
A Red Sox

It was the first game of kid pitch. For the Red Sox, Theo Mihai throwing two solid innings. When it was his turn in the field he made the play of the game with a double play at third base earning himself the MVP game ball. Sonel Ruttan threw 2 innings in relief and Benjamin Frady added two base hits and Henry Kahn took one for the team with the only hit by pitch of the game as well as two quality innings behind the plate as catcher!

The White Sox played a fantastic game Saturday as well. Leo Oz Ari had two-base hit that found its way into the outfield. Anselmo Pedroza pitched a solid inning and made a great defensive play.

A Angels vs.
A Dodgers

The Angels had Robert Fager, Logan Champlin and Jackson Parker pitch while Branson McCall took the mound to pitch the first two innings for the Dodgers. He went on to hit a double in the second inning to lead off his team in what led to 4 runs scored that inning.

Rookie Brewers
vs. Dodgers

It was a great rookie game highlighted by a web gem by the pitcher who snagged a putbacker and slung it over to the first baseman.
